In the old days the history of the Fuchsbau
The Fuchsbau of today has been writing its own history since 1915. Always in family ownership, the hotel and restaurant has proven its consistency for many decades. Staying true to its traditions it has always been full of new life throughout the changing times.
Back then in 1914, “in the old days” so to speak, the large building was a simple farm house. In 1925 Frieda Ramcke, who was widowed at the time, opened an inn with a little general store which was much valued by the villagers of Groß Timmendorf. The inn survived the Second World War providing safe and comfortable lodging for many guests.
In 1948 Frieda Ramcke died and the business of the guest house was inherited by her daughter, who expanded the number of rooms in the Hotel Landfrieden as well as enlarging the Restaurant Fuchsbau later on.
The Fuchsbau burned down to its foundation in 1982 and was re-built in the following 11 months. Since then daily life has returned to fill the rooms of the comfortable house with 41 rooms and suites.
